The trip

The Colosseum before the crowds, Trastevere by night, and a morning in the Vatican Museums.
Day 4
Naples and Pompeii
Fast train south, then an afternoon in Pompeii with an archaeologist who digs there.
Days 5-8
Amalfi Coast
Base yourself in Positano. Walk the Path of the Gods, take the boat to Capri and cook lunch in Sorrento.
Days 9-10
Back to Rome
A final night in Rome and a transfer to Fiumicino.
